A Letter From Our Membership Director
Hello everyone,
My name is Emma Leahy, and I am Phi Mu’s Membership Director. I am so beyond excited for the opportunity to welcome all of you into our house and showcase what makes our sisterhood so special!
As you begin your recruitment journey, I encourage you to pause and truly think about the kind of women you want by your side not just during your years at the University of Florida, but for the rest of your life. Look for women who celebrate you at your best and support you during your worst, who acknowledge your successes, and who stand by you when things get hard. Recruitment can feel overwhelming and emotional, but remember that this journey is uniquely yours. Trust yourself, trust the process, and know that wherever you end up is exactly where you are meant to be. There are so many women waiting to love you, support you, and welcome you with open arms.
Going through Panhellenic recruitment was one of the most meaningful decisions I have made. Phi Mu has given me a home, a support system, and friendships that have shaped who I am today. Within our pink castle on the hill, I have found unconditional love, laughter that never ends, and women who have become my sisters in every sense of the word. These friendships go far beyond college–they are the kind of bonds that stay with you for life. I am endlessly grateful for the memories, the growth, and the sense of belonging Phi Mu has given me.
Phi Mu’s values of Love, Honor, and Truth are more than just words–they are principles that guide the way we treat one another and the way we show up in the world. Through Phi Mu, I have learned what it means to lead with kindness, to hold myself to a higher standard, and to be honest with both others and myself. These values have shaped my character and continue to influence the person I am becoming, reminding me every day to choose compassion, integrity, and authenticity.
I hope you find a place that feels like home the moment you walk through the door–a place where you feel seen, valued, and loved for exactly who you are. Best of luck on your recruitment journey. Cherish every moment, and trust that your heart will lead you where you belong.
With so much love,
Emma Leahy

I am incredibly grateful for the sense of belonging and sisterhood I’ve found here.”

A Letter From Our Provisional Membership Director
Dear lovely Potential New Members,
Hi! My name is Kayleigh McCord, and I am blessed and honored to serve as Phi Mu’s Provisional Membership Director.
When I came to college, I had a really hard start. I was so homesick and missed everything about my hometown. There were so many moments where I questioned if I had made the right decision coming here. I never imagined that I would find myself in Greek life, let alone writing this letter to you now. Taking a chance and going through recruitment my sophomore year was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I am forever grateful that I did. The women of this chapter filled in a missing piece of my college experience and helped me truly fall in love with this university.
The women of this chapter filled a space in my heart that I didn’t even realize was missing. They support me when I need it most, celebrate me in moments big and small, and constantly remind me of my worth. They became the people I could laugh with, cry with, and grow alongside. Through them, I found not only a sense of belonging, but also a deeper love for myself and for this university. What once felt unfamiliar quickly became home.
As you begin recruitment, I want to encourage you to not lose sight of what makes you uniquely you. It can be easy to compare yourself to the girls around you or to wonder if you are saying the right things or making the right impressions. But the truth is, the right place will never require you to change who you are. Instead, it will celebrate you, uplift you, and encourage you to grow into the person you are meant to be.
Be present in each moment, trust your instincts, and allow yourself to be fully seen. Some conversations will feel effortless, and some might feel a little uncomfortable. That’s totally normal! Give yourself grace throughout this process. You are exactly where you are meant to be.
Most importantly, trust that everything will work out the way it is supposed to. What is meant for you will find you. The place where you are truly meant to belong will feel genuine, supportive, and full of love. No matter where you end up, this experience has the potential to shape you in the most beautiful way.
I am so excited for you as you start this journey. You are about to meet incredible people, learn more about yourself, and create memories that will stay with you for the rest of your life. I cannot wait to see the amazing women you will become and the impact you will make, wherever you find your home.
With so much love,
