A Letter From Our Membership Director
As you begin your recruitment journey, I encourage you to reflect on the kind of women you want to surround yourself with for your time at the University of Florida and beyond – women who inspire you, support you, and encourage you to be the best version of yourself. This journey is uniquely and entirely your own. Embrace the process with an open heart and mind, and trust that it will guide you exactly where you need to be. Countless women are excitedly waiting to welcome you with open arms.
Participating in Panhellenic recruitment was the best decision I’ve made. With every day, my gratitude for Phi Mu grows. There is something so powerful about the unconditional love we share and the one-of-a-kind friendships we’ve built within our grey castle on the hill. I hope that you find a bond as fulfilling. Best of luck on your recruitment journey!
With love,
Neenah Brown
Hi everyone,
My name is Neenah Brown, and I am beyond grateful to serve as Phi Mu’s Membership Director. Recruitment is right around the corner, and I can’t wait for you to get one step closer to finding friends who will become family and make UF feel like a home away from home. My sisters and I are excited to show you a little more about what makes Phi Mu so cherished.
When I first walked through our beautiful pink double doors, I felt a sense of warmth and belonging. The women I met radiated confidence, kindness, and love for one another. It didn’t take long for me to realize that this wasn’t just another group of people – it’s a sisterhood where real, lasting friendships are made. Each conversation I had gave me a glimpse into the heart of Phi Mu – a place where unconditional love, steadfast honor, and sincere truth are woven into everything we do.
Phi Mu is special to me for so many reasons. It has given me friendships I could have only dreamed of having. The women in our chapter have pushed me to become the best version of myself – academically, personally, and professionally. They are always there to celebrate successes, offer guidance, or simply be a source of support when times are tough. Time after time, my sisters in Phi Mu have shown me the true meaning of sisterhood.

I am incredibly grateful for the sense of belonging and sisterhood I’ve found here.”

A Letter From Our Provisional Membership Director
Dear lovely PNMs,
My name is Elise Mecca, and I am honored to serve as Phi Mu’s New Member Educator!
When I first came to college, I wasn’t sure if Greek life was right for me. I had doubts about the process and worried I wouldn’t find a chapter that truly felt like home. But during my sophomore year, I decided to take the leap, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.
When searching for your home, it’s important to remember who you are and who you want to become. You may not immediately connect with every sister, and that’s completely normal! Finding your footing takes time. While it’s essential to stay true to yourself, it’s equally important to surround yourself with people who will challenge you, hold you accountable, and see your potential—even when you can’t.
As a freshman, I never imagined I’d be here today, but I’m forever grateful I took that first step. Two years after becoming a Phi Mu, I am surrounded by women who are driven, confident, uplifting, empathetic, and everything in between. It’s within this chapter that I’ve felt fully known and fully loved. I can only hope you, too, find a place that loves you for everything you are, everything you’ve been, and everything you’re becoming.
As you journey through recruitment, keep these tips in mind:
-
Smile! This process is for YOU. Keep a positive mindset, and remember the amazing qualities you have to offer.
-
Don’t compare your experience to others. This is your journey. Everyone’s values will align with different chapters.
-
Be open and don’t take things too seriously. At the end of the day, you’re just talking to another woman, possibly a new friend! You never know who you’ll connect with and see later on in life. We’re here to listen and get to know you.
I’ll be rooting for each and every one of you during your journey! Always be kind, confident, and loving, and remember there’s always someone in your corner.
Best wishes and many hugs,
